Design and application notes
Built around the Alien Higgs-10 chip, this inlay uses a 86.8 × 25 mm dipole antenna, a long footprint that favours read range on cartons, pallets and larger items, and is read by EPC Gen2 (ISO/IEC 18000-63) readers across the 860–960 MHz band.
Alien Higgs-10 provides up to 128-bit EPC (96-bit nominal), up to 32-bit user memory with a 96-bit EPC, 48-bit unique TID. Alien specifies a read sensitivity of up to −21.5 dBm and a write sensitivity of up to −19 dBm for the bare chip; the range of the finished tag also depends on the antenna, the reader and the tagged material. Datasheet highlights: Sentinel Memory error correction, 200,000 write cycles and enhanced backscatter.
We do not publish a read range for this design. Range depends on the reader, antenna, power and tagged material, so ask us for test data or samples for your setup.
Whether it fits depends on your item and reader setup; describe the use case and we will confirm if this design is a good match.
The same chip and antenna are available as dry inlay, wet inlay or label; printing, EPC encoding and custom label sizes are quoted on request. Start with samples, then move to volume once the tag passes your tests; volume orders are produced with our ISO 9001-certified production partner and 100% electrically tested inline.
Order in the format you need
Confirm the construction and encoding during sampling, then quote the configuration you validated.
Dry inlay
Chip and antenna on a PET carrier without adhesive, for your own converting, hang tags or lamination.
Wet inlay
The same inlay with pressure-sensitive adhesive on a liner, applied like a sticker.
Label
Paper or synthetic face stock over the inlay, blank or printed, ready for RFID printers.
Custom
Other label sizes, face stocks, adhesives, printing, encoding and roll formats on request.
How ordering works
- 01
Specify
Share surface, read distance, chip preference and volume. We shortlist tags that fit.
- 02
Sample
Receive sample tags of the shortlisted designs to try in your own setup.
- 03
Validate
Test on your items, readers and printers. We adjust chip, size or format if needed.
- 04
Produce & ship
Volume production with 100% inline electrical test, then export shipping.
