Design and application notes
UCODE 8 UHF RFID Inlay, AZ-U8-S03 is a passive UHF RFID inlay design with the NXP UCODE 8 chip on a dipole antenna for the 860–960 MHz band. Its antenna dimensions are shared on request: tell us the item and the label position, and we will confirm whether it fits and send samples.
NXP UCODE 8 provides up to 128-bit EPC, 96-bit TID with a 48-bit unique serial number, no user memory. NXP specifies a read sensitivity of up to −23 dBm and a write sensitivity of up to −18 dBm for the bare chip; the range of the finished tag also depends on the antenna, the reader and the tagged material. Datasheet highlights: Self Adjust auto-tuning, Memory Safeguard, Brand Identifier for authentication checks, the Gen2v2 Untraceable command and an integrated Product Status Flag (PSF) for EAS.
We do not publish a read range for this design. Range depends on the reader, antenna, power and tagged material, so ask us for test data or samples for your setup.
Buyers typically use this UHF RFID inlay for apparel hang tags, care labels and price tickets.
The same chip and antenna are available as dry inlay, wet inlay or label; printing, EPC encoding and custom label sizes are quoted on request. Start with samples, then move to volume once the tag passes your tests; volume orders are produced with our ISO 9001-certified production partner and 100% electrically tested inline.
Order in the format you need
Confirm the construction and encoding during sampling, then quote the configuration you validated.
Dry inlay
Chip and antenna on a PET carrier without adhesive, for your own converting, hang tags or lamination.
Wet inlay
The same inlay with pressure-sensitive adhesive on a liner, applied like a sticker.
Label
Paper or synthetic face stock over the inlay, blank or printed, ready for RFID printers.
Custom
Other label sizes, face stocks, adhesives, printing, encoding and roll formats on request.
How ordering works
- 01
Specify
Share surface, read distance, chip preference and volume. We shortlist tags that fit.
- 02
Sample
Receive sample tags of the shortlisted designs to try in your own setup.
- 03
Validate
Test on your items, readers and printers. We adjust chip, size or format if needed.
- 04
Produce & ship
Volume production with 100% inline electrical test, then export shipping.
